This is an oil painting I did back in 1998, when I was 33 years old and had much more time to paint. The name of this abstract is called "My Life." At the time of this composition, I felt a need to try and describe my life experiences up until that time. This is how I came up with the name and the images in this painting. Maybe in the future, I'll do an updated abstract of my life experiences up until now. Surely it will be much more cluttered than this painting.

red mask with purple lips eyes floating amidst blue hearts - whom do they look at?
"My life" is amazing, Lydia. I tried to put in a haiku, what I see in your painting. The colors and combinations of forms are bold. Well done, lydia!
Thank You Olivia, I tend to paint in bolf colors. At times it's an advantage and other times it's a disadvantage. Especially when I'm trying to paint something softer and more pastel.
Hi Amro, Thank you for coming by and visiting my blog and commenting on my painting. I just love to paint, but don't get quite enough time anymore, since My children were born.
Hi Oswegan, I've never heard of M.C. Escher. You had me curious, so I just had to google him. He has some very interesting and fantastic pieces of work. Anything even a touch near his quality is a huge complement. Thank you
Lydia, I love that! I love color, too. This is my first visit to your blog...you've done a wonderful job with it! If you don't mind, I'll add a link on my blog. Have a great weekend!
Hi Amber, Thanks so much for adding me to your link list. I did the same for you. I also want to thank you for the kind complement you gave me on my Painting.
I am a married mother of two.
I've decided to start a blog about cooking, art, organic gardening and my wonderful experiences while practicing a healthy lifestyle. Since I've never been a fan of meat, I am a vegan and have been one for many years. Lately, on rare occasions, I do find myself craving fresh fish and seafood. Cheese doesn't agree with me, even though I like it, so I eat soy products in place of dairy. Working out and spending as much time outdoors as I can during the summer months, is something I do often. I try to get out to work in my vegetable garden at least four times a week. It's so important for me to keep myself connected to nature. The best way for me to do this, is by being outdoors working in the soil. Painting is one of my favorite hobbies. Even though I didn't finish, I do have some college behind me. My major was in Art Education. Hopefully, I will get more time to paint as my children get older and I get more time to myself. By having this blog, I am also able to share many of my late mother's home cooked Italian recipes, my recipes and some of my close friend's recipes with others.

I really love this! I have several abstracts in my home and enjoy them very much.
You are so talented!

Thank you Sue, I use to enjoy painting abstacts. I hope to get back into them a bit more again in the future.
"I have measured out my life with coffee spoons", T.S.Eliot says in "The Love Song of J.Alfred Prufrock".
You have measured out your life with paints and brushes, Lydia, and have created a very expressive piece of art. Congratulations!
That saying makes sense Olivia.
Very cool, thanks for sharing.

Make sure you keep on painting and put all that colour out to the world. I love the look of faces looking out from chaos.

Hi Linda, Thank you. I hope to paint another one of these abstracts " My Life", just an updated version, since this one was painted back in 1998.
I helped out in the kindergarten art literacy this morning on Picasso and it reminded me of this portrait.
But now that I look at it again, I see sort of an M.C. Escher quality to it.
