Celestial Oil Painting

Here is an oil painting I did back in 1999. During this time period I was on a celestial kick, so this is what inspired me to create this painting. Even though they are very messy to work with, oil paints are my number one choice of media to work with, out of any other type of media. They go on so smooth and they are easy to rework when you decide you want to change your composition. The colors you can get from using oils can be quite stunning. I do intend on creating some of my butterfly knowledge cards, by using Oil paints for some of my compositions.
Hopefully, I'll be able to find more time to paint during the fall, once my daughter is back in school and my son begins preschool. For now I'm preoccupied harvesting the vegetables and herbs out of my garden and storing them all for the winter months ahead.

That is a beautiful oil painting, Lydia.

I love the faces that you gave to the sun and the moon.

I go stargazing every night. During the new moon and the full moon I hold moon rituals outside.

May the celestial energies inspire you to complete more of your wonderful artwork.

Thank you Olivia. The moon and it's phases are very important to me while gardening, along with ending things that are no longer of use to me on a waning moon and beginning new projects on a waxing moon. Most dreamwork is best done when the moon is just coming to and from full. This is the time when my dreams become very vivid, the most meaningful, and very blunt, as well as direct.

That is a very nice photo of you, Lydia. The bright blue of your blouse is the same as in the "Celestial Oil Painting". Is it your favourite colour?

Hello Sue, Thank you for visiting my blog. I would love for you to keep visiting and commenting when you feel like it. Thank you for linking me,I'm very happy about that. Do you have a blog?

Hi Lydia,

Sue's blog is:

http://thetornpages.com

I found it through Tess Gerritsen's blog. I like that name, "the torn pages". You won't believe how many pages I have already torn after filling them with words, words, words ...

That is the author's anxiety of never being good enough.

I commented three of Sue's posts and she came over to comment one of mine.

I recommended your blog to Sue since you both are interested in dreams (and probably many things more).

By the way, I will be putting bilingual posts on my blog starting tomorrow, so you can better understand what I am writing about.

The first half of each post will be in German, the second in English. I will keep my posts short and sweet so you won't get bored.

Thank you very much for the link to my blog, Lydia. Please put in brackets (German/English) so visitors from the States will know that they can read the English part of my blog and may comment in English.
